OVERVIEW

Our History

The First Baptist Church of Bermuda was organized on July 22, 1956 with thirty members.  Initially, it ministered to members of the military community from the U.S. Air Force Base, which later was transferred to the U.S. Navy.
The present church building was constructed in 1965 and has had one addition.  The church also owns two houses, one of which serves as a residence for our pastoral staff.  In addition, the church has a large playground area and adequate parking area.
In its almost seventy year history, the Foreign Mission Board, SBC, has provided assistance with pastoral leadership, however, the church is now fully self-supporting.
The church maintains relationships with The Caribbean Baptist Fellowship, The Southern Baptist Convention and The Baptist World Alliance.  It is a mission-minded church, both giving liberally to mission causes and sending members to participate in local and foreign missions.

Adult Sunday School – 9:45 am – 10:45 am

Morning Service – 11:00 am

Children’s sunday school – During morning service

NURSERY – AVAILABLE FOR BIRTH TO 3YRS DURING MORNING SERVICE

PRAYER MEETING (SUNDAY EVENINGS) – 6:30 PM

WHY WE ARE HERE

Our Purpose

The purpose of the church is to show love for God and others by living out Jesus’ teachings: loving God wholeheartedly, caring for people, and helping others discover and follow Him (Matthew  22:36 – 40 and Matthew 28:18 – 20).

Our Objectives

  • To create sacred spaces where people can connect with and worship God.
  • To share the life-changing message of God’s love with everyone, no matter where they are in their faith journey.
  • To make a meaningful impact through hands-on mission work that spreads hope and help.
  • To foster a welcoming community where believers can build authentic connections and support one another.
  • To offer engaging and transformative opportunities to grow in faith and understanding of God’s Word.

Our Statement of Belief

We hold the Holy Bible to be God’s inspired word to man.  It is both the basis and the authority for our beliefs.  This Church subscribes to The Baptist Faith and Message (1967).  Click here to read the document.
